Americorps Build Apprentice

I spent the year building low-income sustainable housing in Moab, Utah, where the housing shortage is one of the biggest issues. We worked with local and natural building materials, focusing on cob building (straw bale construction), natural plaster, and passive cooling techniques.

-I spent three months researching carbon sequestration on a backpacking trip through different altitudes of the Amazon

-I created and conducted a biodiversity study on the impacts of development on native species, specifically looking at the impacts of roads being built from the most biodiverse point on the planet.

Nepal + India - fall 2023

-While studying in Kathmandu, I lived with an exiled Tibetan family learning about the geopolitical tensions currently affecting millions of people throughout China, Chinese-occupied Tibet, Nepal, + India

-Independent Research on indigenous architecture

-Wrote my thesis while traveling through Delhi, Agra, and Goa to research climate change’s impacts on monuments and culture.
